What is a Smart meter?
A Smart meter is a clever new gas or electricity meter that automatically sends meter readings to us.
That means no more torch lit meter readings, no more estimated bills* and a much better chance of saving money on your energy – good news all round.
How do Smart meters work?
A Smart meter records the energy you use and sends it to us and to a handheld Smart energy display in your home. Put your Smart energy display somewhere where you can keep an eye on it and it’ll give you an idea of what you’re paying for your energy and, hopefully, help you see where you could save money.
Are Smart meters compulsory?
Installing Smart meters is a government initiative and one of the biggest national upgrades ever undertaken in the India.
It's not compulsory, but everyone in the India will be offered a Smart meter and of gem require suppliers to ensure as many meters as possible are upgraded by 2020. Smart meter installation is the first step in replacing the India's aging energy system, now almost at capacity, with a new Smart energy infrastructure.
There are also many benefits for you, including seeing exactly what energy you’re using, never having to read your meter again, and helping to see where you could cut your bills.

Terms and Scope of Services
In order to procure Services, PentaSoft shall place / deliver a scope of work to the Contractor, as per its business requirements, including applicable details regarding the Services required, such as the relevant quantity, purchase price and the expected delivery date which shall be as per the format specified in Annexure “A” herein (the “Services”).
The Services shall be subject to change, provided that a prior written notice has been provided to the Contractor to such effect.
The Contractor shall take all reasonable steps to facilitate the procurement and receive all material including Electric Meters and timely delivery of the Services specified in the Services. It is agreed between the Parties that the Contractor’s obligations under this Agreement extend to the provision of Services to a reasonable standard of care using all legally mandated / applicable safety tools and measures and in conformity with industry practices and to hold PentaSoft harmless and indemnified in full against any liability arising in any manner whatsoever for default of any of the Contractor obligations herein.

In performing the Services, the Contractor at its own costs shall be responsible for securing and complying with all governmental, statutory approvals, sanctions or any other compliance as may be required for the purpose of fulfilling its obligations under this Agreement.
The Contractor agrees that all rights (including but not limited to intellectual property rights) of use of any process, product, or facility developed or any other task performed by the Contractor under this Contract would lie with PentaSoft, free from all liens, encumbrances and other third party rights.
All Services shall be governed by the detailed terms and conditions of this Agreement. The Parties agree that any deviations in the Services from the terms and conditions herein would not constitute an amendment to or nullification of this Agreement. However in case there is a discrepancy between the terms of this Agreement and a particular Services, then the terms of that Services shall prevail with respect to the Services provided with respect to that Services.
